Los Angeles County San Dimas Raptor Rescue Expansion Campaign

The Los Angeles County San Dimas Raptor Rescue is a wildlife rehabilitation center that is dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned birds of prey. Our facility takes in hundreds of birds each year and proudly returns them to the wild once they are able to survive on their own. This was seen in action on July 18, 2026 when, San Dimas Raptor Rescue successfully rescued Jackie the eagle from Big Bear Lake at approximately 1:30 am. Following the rescue, the team provided the eagle with a safe environment and initial stabilization before coordinating its transfer to a premier rehabilitation facility specializing in eagle care. The rescue reflects the importance of collaboration among emergency responders, wildlife organizations and permitted rehabilitation partners in protecting California’s native wildlife.

The San Dimas Raptor Rescue Expansion Campaign seeks to raise $1.3 million to build three new flight enclosures, ten new mews, and supporting infrastructure that will expand our raptor rehabilitation capacity by 200%. As the region’s safety net for injured raptors both within and beyond Los Angeles County, San Dimas Raptor Rescue plays a critical role in rescuing, treating, and preparing these birds for recovery and release. This capital investment will ensure more raptors—like Jackie the eagle—receive expert care in safe, specialized facilities designed for long‑term rehabilitation. To celebrate donor generosity, the campaign will offer recognition plaques at various giving levels, honoring supporters throughout the expanded enclosure complex while maintaining the integrity and purpose of each space.
